This blog is for anyone who has ever gone to Europe, fell in love with a food or product, and is simply dying without it back in the States. I will share places throughout New England where you can find these foods or products - or ones that are comparable.

The United Kingdom: Boots, the UK's most Popular Chemist

Boots has been the leading name in health and beauty in the UK for over 160 years. Similar to CVS, Boots is the most popular "chemist" in the UK and carries a wide variety of beauty and health products. After seeing stores on every street corner in the UK, I found myself stocking up on Euthymol toothpaste and Boots brand makeup and skin care so I wouldn't run out before my next trip abroad. I found myself trying to get every last bit of toothpaste and cringed when I thought about the day I would run out of my face wash. Well, my fellow American travelers, the legendary Boots has opened up in-store "implants" in Target stores across the country. You can get all your favorite Boots brand products at reasonable prices (no exchange rate!) and feel like you're back in Notting Hill.

  1. Hello! Let's start off with your blog description: short sweet and to the point! What could be better? It is definitely very clear who your target audience is and what the point of the blog is. However, it may be a little more efficient to mention New England in the first line somewhere, since technically not all of the States will benefit from your blog.
Your About Me section was fantastic. It very clearly explains why you wanted to create the blog and helps form an emotional connection with your audience, since you are both pining for things you love and miss from Europe. The last line was also a cute little catchphrase as well!
Finally, your first post was very good. I like how it focuses on a little detail (toothpaste and cosmetics) versus a large one, which lets your audience know you'll be covering more than just the big, obvious things they'd be missing. Providing a little history behind Boots and comparing it with a well-known American company was also a great choice. I have never been to the UK before, but I now understand that boots equates to a drug store, more or less. Can't wait to read more!

  2. Very well done, your about me page gives a great background on how you developed an interest in finding European products in the US. The description area clearly identifies that you are focusing on finding things in the New England area so that a person from the west coast would know immediately that some of what you post will be irrelevant to them. The Boots post gives a good background on the company and a picture of the logo, both of which will help anyone that is not familiar with the brand to recognize it if they spot it in the implant locations at Target. Overall I would say that all three areas are well organized, thoughtful, and well written.
